Mullin said he received requests to help thousands of people. He also said he was asked to accompany people with US military connections – “Delta [Force] guys” and “special forces” – into the war-torn country.
“I’m not Rambo,” he said. “Never pretended to be Rambo. We were surrounded by great people. Out of all the guys I was working with, I’m the low man on the totem pole. And I understood that.”
I do not know Congressman Markwayne Mullin, or anything about him, other than the fact that he ostensibly represents my interests in DC. I do not vote, so to me he is just a guy. Maybe the guy is misguided, or just an opportunist, like the media establishment is attempting to portray him.
One big difference between Mullin and Rambo is that Rambo went to Afghanistan when the jihadis were friendly, and Mullin attempted to gain entry when the jihadis were prepared to slaughter all 120,000-plus hostages whom the Biden Administration fully intended to abandon.
Rambo is fiction. Mullin is a real person who made a real effort to help people. Mullin may not be Rambo, but Rambo is no Mullin.
