CNBC Africa:
The U.S.–Israel conflict with Iran has entered its third day, with loud blasts heard in Dubai and Abu Dhabi and Tehran’s security chief saying that negotiations with Washington were off the table.
Iranian state media reported more than 200 people were killed in Iran, while the U.S. has confirmed three American service members have died and five seriously wounded. President Donald Trump has warned of further American casualties and said the conflict could last up to four weeks.
Trump also said Iran’s new leadership was looking to resume negotiations, without specifying any details. Iran’s security chief Ali Larijani, however, rejected those claims, saying Tehran had no plans to engage in talks with the U.S.
The death of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has left Iran in a sensitive leadership transition, with a temporary council, including senior cleric Ayatollah Alireza Arafi and President Masoud Pezeshkian, assuming control.
The last time I blogged about Iran, I noted that “the entire world knows beyond a shadow of a doubt that President Trump can never be trusted and uses negotiations as cover for further unprovoked aggression on behalf of his Zionist masters.”
I hoped it would not happen, but considering the military buildup in the region, it is not surprising that President Trump was stupid enough, yet again, to use diplomatic talks as a cover to start another unprovoked, unnecessary, unjustifiable, and anti-Constitutional war of regime change against Iran on behalf of his Israeli handlers.
The last time he did this, it took him almost two weeks to beg the Iranians for a ceasefire. This time, it only took him three days. Iran says no; they will just keep destroying all of our bases in the region.
We do not have the munitions to keep this up very long and our desperation is already showing.
