Rev. Rob W. Lee, an anti-racism and social justice advocate, and his family are rebuking claims from Confederate Civil War buffs that they aren’t distant relatives of Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee.
The North Carolina pastor has called for the removal of monuments dedicated to the general he says is his slaveholding ancestor. Confederate apologists have disputed his family connection to the general, and he says he’s been bombarded with death threats.
Rob W. Lee provided Axios a nearly 400-page family genealogy report gathered by a hired genealogist that ties him to Lee over multiple generations using a zig-zag of births and family marriages.
“The Reverend” Rob Lee—a Cultural Marxist propagandist who has attempted to make a name for himself by dumping all over his alleged ancestors to score points with historical illiterates—is still a liar and a fraud. His claim to fame is that he is a descendant of General Robert E. Lee, but he is not. Nor is he a nephew of the General, as he has also falsely claimed. After being exposed as a liar and a fraud, he has now returned with 400 pages worth of bullcrap to explain that he is distantly-related to the General.
Well, who isn’t?
I am descended from more than a dozen Civil War veterans, and I could list them all, along with the units they served in, in addition to detailing how I am descended from them, in a page or less. I would not need to hire anyone to do it for me. I would not need 400 pages to do it.
Apparently, the race-baiting “reverend” Rob is simply hoping that no one notices how far he had to move the goal post in order to continue pretending that he has some sort of clout or authority to speak about General Lee.
State Sen. George Young, D-Oklahoma City, said he’s concerned about ongoing perceptions of police and court intolerances. He also said that areas of the state with larger concentrations of minorities have less access to COVID-19 testing, vaccines and college-level high school courses.
Young said Senate Bill 1204 would create a Commission on Race and Equality to advise state leaders on issues related to racial discrimination and bias. The commission would monitor legislation to determine whether it is discriminatory toward a race or ethnicity, serve as a clearinghouse for research on issues related to discrimination or bias, and act as a resource for those making state appointments.
The board will ultimately report back to the governor, Senate president and House speaker and recommend needed legislation or regulatory changes. Those three leaders would appoint the bulk of the membership, but the Legislative Black Caucus would also have appointing power.
The commission must be broadly representative of the geographic areas of the state and include representatives of several racial and ethic groups.
Commissioners would not be paid, but would be entitled to travel reimbursement. The commission must meet at least once every three months.
Young, who is Black, said he’s proposed similar measures in the past, but they’ve not received a committee hearing. He said he wants the committee to serve as a receptacle for ideas, thoughts, complaints and recommendations.
“There is nobody that’s focusing or concentrating on racial disparities, racial insensitivity or racial concern,” he said, adding that it would also encompass Hispanics, Asian Americans and Native Americans.
This is, of course, a very stupid idea. Giving a state-sanctioned forum to racists, for the sole purpose of dividing Oklahoma society, is not in the interest of a single Oklahoman.
Students at the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith now have the option to minor in a new discipline: Diversity studies, following approval from the University of Arkansas System Board of Trustees and the Arkansas Higher Education Coordinating Board. The new minor will allow students to combine courses from multiple disciplines to form a meaningful understanding of the social implications of diversity, equity and inclusion in history and the workforce.
Although UAFS’ new Political Correctness minor will be absolutely useless in the context of real life, it will be very easy to earn.
During a recent professional-development training, Tulsa Public Schools teachers were told to shift their classroom focus to “privilege and oppression,” according to materials recently made public.
That recommendation was included in a “Changing the Discourse” training offered by the National Equity Project that was provided to Tulsa teachers. Much of the National Equity Project’s materials and website include concepts associated with Critical Race Theory, such as the idea that white individuals automatically enjoy privileged status while racial minorities are automatically oppressed, regardless of individual circumstances or achievement.
This is insane. The public schools have no business teaching children to be racists.
A Black Lives Matter leader vowed there’ll be “riots,” “fire” and “bloodshed” if Mayor-elect Eric Adams follows through with his promise to bring back plainclothes anti-crime cops to battle New York’s surge in violent crimes.
New York BLM co-founder Hawk Newsome debated the plan for a return to tougher policing with Adams during a contentious sit-down at Brooklyn Borough Hall Wednesday that was livestreamed on Instagram.
Although Adams found common ground with the activists on plans to fight poverty in the black community, the former NYPD captain said he’ll be reinstating a revamped version of the undercover anti-crime unit that was disbanded at the height of widespread police protests last year.
The lawsuit, backed by the American Civil Liberties Union and the ACLU of Oklahoma, was filed Tuesday. The organizations argue that HB 1775, which took effect in May, interferes with students’ and educators’ First Amendment rights to learn and talk about gender and race issues in school.
This policy also prevents students from discussing in-depth American history that reflects the experiences and viewpoints of “all historically marginalized communities in this country,” the ACLU argues.
Critical Race Theory is not history, it is an interpretation of history. It is Marx’s critical theory translated from economic into cultural terminology. Children do not need to be brainwashed with radical racist ideologies in Oklahoma public schools.
General Mark Milley is officially “woke.” It is interesting how he equated the study of Critical Race Theory (CRT) by our military with the study of Marxism by our military. Marxism, an alien and enemy ideology, was studied by our military as such. General Milley obviously does not view CRT as an alien and enemy ideology, however.
For decades, conservatives have been pointing out that all the Political Correctness/Victim ID/Social Justice/Woke stuff is merely the translation of Marx’s critical theory from economic into cultural terminology. For just as long, proponents of Cultural Marxism have been denying the existence of Cultural Marxism, while simultaneously espousing Cultural Marxism and decrying anyone who believes in the existence of Cultural Marxism as an “Anti-Semite.” Now, because General Milley apparently wants to spread it throughout the ranks, everyone is talking about CRT, which is Marx’s critical theory translated from economic into cultural terminology. What a spectacle.
Many people learned everything they needed to know about General Milley in October of 2016 when he gave a speech, with the cadence of a politician, about how we will militarily “beat” Russia, China, Iran, and North Korea harder than they have ever been beaten. It is important to remember that, throughout the 2016 election cycle, Democrat candidate Hillary Clinton campaigned for POTUS on the promise that she would start wars with Nuclear Russia, Nuclear China, Nuclear North Korea, Iran, and Syria. Whereas anyone who was old enough to remember the Cold War could still very easily understand why we do not attack our nuclear-armed adversaries, Hillary Clinton made Nuclear World War III the central plank of her foreign policy platform.
In March of 2016, General Milley weighed in on the issue of war with Nuclear Russia, Nuclear China, etc., while testifying on Capitol Hill. He said that “years of combat in Iraq and Afghanistan, constrained budgets and troop cuts have had a cumulative effect on the service.”
But what Milley describes as a “great power war” against one or two of four countries – China, Russia, Iran and North Korea – would pose greater challenges.
Milley says the Army’s readiness is not at a level that is appropriate for what the American people expect to defend them.
General Milley was absolutely correct in March of 2016: the United States was not ready for Nuclear World War III. But just such a great power war is precisely what Establishment-darling Hillary Clinton promised her supporters, repeatedly, throughout the 2016 campaign. Attempts at challenging her supporters to actually think about what she was saying, and to consider the prospect of everyone they loved and knew being incinerated in a nuclear holocaust, were typically met with thoughtless counter-charges of “sexism” and “misogyny.” Thousands and thousands and thousands and thousands of nuclear warhead strikes all over the globe, with each warhead capable of incinerating a land mass the size of Texas, was totally worth it to most Hillary Clinton supporters, who simply believed that we needed a woman president because no woman had ever been president therefore we needed a woman president.
Still, some Hillary Clinton supporters were on the fence. They wondered if Hillary Clinton’s promise of starting Nuclear World War III might somehow backfire, like each and every other war or foreign policy initiative she had ever supported. The fence-sitters needed reassurances. A month before the election, the pro-Nuclear World War III Establishment found a camouflaged sock puppet. Suddenly the prospect of a great power war was no problem, according to General Milley. Had anything actually changed in real life? No. Even to this day, we are still not ready for Nuclear World War III. But in 2016, at a time when the US needed good and honest leadership, General Milley went AWOL.
General Milley’s latest antics, and any subsequent antics he plans to implement in the future, should not surprise anyone.
