“I’ve always liked coming to Fort Chaffee, the downfall of Fort Chaffee is the chiggers and the ticks,” Colonel Colby Wyatt said. “But the upside to Fort Chaffee is the vast openness and the ability to be able to come out here and do movement and maneuver and not bump into other entities.”

Residents of Fort Smith are calling on the city to restore the Riverfront Park flag display.
The city established the display, which includes a Confederate flag, in October 2001, but last April, the flags were taken down due to damage and wear.
City officials say they’re reconsidering and re-examining the restoration of the flag display in light of recent racially historic events.
Fort Smith City Administrator Carl Geffken said “We’re taking all of that in, and we’re trying to think what this region, the city of Fort Smith reflects on, and what is important to it.”
Attorney Joey McCutchen tells us he plans to file a lawsuit against the city if the flag display is not promptly restored.
Afghan security forces fought back a major Taliban offensive in southern Helmand province in the last 24 hours, officials and residents said on Tuesday, as militants launched assaults around the country after a missed U.S. deadline to withdraw troops.
Although the United States did not meet the May 1 withdrawal deadline agreed in talks with the Taliban last year, its pull-out has begun, with President Joe Biden announcing all troops will be out by Sept. 11. Critics of the decision to withdraw say the Islamist militants will try to sweep back into power.
Biden botched the withdrawal. Pushing it back to Nine Eleven, for purely symbolic reasons, so that he can have his solemn ceremony and photo op, is not what the Talibn agreed to.
