As Truce Seems To Hold, India And Pakistan Both Claim Victory

The New York Times:

The fragile truce between India and Pakistan appeared to be largely holding on its first full day after some initial skirmishing, as both countries turned on Sunday to making the case that they had come out on top in the four-day conflict.

President Trump announced on Saturday that the two sides had agreed to a cease-fire with the help of U.S. mediation. That brought a halt to a military confrontation that had involved drones, missiles and intense shelling, and that had escalated, with strikes on military bases in both countries.

Mr. Trump followed up with a congratulatory note on Sunday, praising the two sides for “having the strength, wisdom, and fortitude to fully know and understand that it was time to stop the current aggression that could have lead to to the death and destruction of so many, and so much.”

He added that he would increase trade “substantially” with both countries, and that he would work with them to see if a “solution can be arrived at” to settle their seven-decade dispute over the Kashmir region.

Pakistan, a onetime close ally of the United States that has faded in importance, praised the American role as a mediator. But in India, the Trump administration’s public descriptions of its role in the mediation seemed to touch some sensitive spots politically.

This flare-up of the India-Pakistan War was, of course, precipitated by the shenanigans of the CIA.

The ongoing India-Pakistan conflict is yet another fracas which the Globalists hope to blow up and incorporate into their nuclear World War III. They call this “strategic sequencing.”

It is unclear if President Trump has truly foiled the Globalists’ schemes, or if this is just the beginning of a greater conflict.

Setback For Beijing? US Says It Can Renew Attacks On Afghanistan; But Why Should China & Pakistan Worry?

The EurAsian Times:

Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan’s ouster has turned the tables in Washington’s favor. America’s deft move has left China in a spot, at least in South Asia.

The regime change in Islamabad may see fresh US strikes inside Afghanistan in the name of flushing out terror groups like ISIS. But the bigger game is to oust China and its coveted China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.

We need to leave Afghanistan alone.

Deadly Pakistan Strikes In Afghanistan Reflect Growing Cross-Border Tensions

Responsible Statecraft:

Pakistan conducted airstrikes this weekend in Afghanistan’s Khost and Kunar provinces in response to the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan’s (TTP) spring offensive inside Pakistan. As of this writing, the death toll reported by the Afghan Taliban was 45, including women and children, marking a worrisome escalation in cross-border violence between Pakistan and Taliban-led Afghanistan.

The TTP is a coalition of militant groups that in reporting is sometimes referred to interchangeably as the Pakistani Taliban. It took the international stage and became a steadfast enemy of the Pakistani state when the group attacked the Army Public School in Peshawar in December 2014. This attack was a catalyst for Pakistani military operations such as Zarb-e-Azb and Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad in 2014 and 2017 respectively, which were successful in temporarily curbing militancy inside Pakistan.

However, in recent years the TTP has reabsorbed splinter terrorist groups into its ranks and is noticably emboldened by the Afghan Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan last summer, which it views as a model to be replicated.

Talibs Call China ‘Friend’ As Beijing-Islamabad-Taliban Nexus Cements In Afghanistan

The Sentinel:

The broad contours of nexus between China, Pakistan and the Taliban are now visible in plain sight after the militant group has gone public in welcoming Beijing’s role in Afghanistan’s reconstruction and guaranteeing that anti-China insurgents are rooted out of the country. In an interview with the South China Morning Post (SCMP) last week, the Taliban’s spokesperson Suhail Shaheen, sought China’s support for Afghanistan’s reconstruction “as soon as possible”. Shaheen described China as a “friend” and promised to ensure the safety and security of Chinese nationals whose presence would be inevitable if Beijing undertakes projects after Afghanistan’s political transition, where the Taliban could play a dominant role.
