KFSM:
A clear, sunny day has turned smoky across Northwest Arkansas and parts of the River Valley. Fires farther south in the Boston Mountains and Ouachitas are being carried north by strong winds and impacting air quality from Fayetteville to Bentonville.
Rain moving in later tonight will clear the air and the smoke will be long gone on Friday.
There are four main fires that can be seen by satellite. We do not know the status of each fire, whether is it a controlled burn or a wildfire.
Northeastern Franklin County — near Cass
Northern Scott County — north of Waldron in the terrain (biggest fire)
Southern Le Flore County — near Big Cedar
Northern Montgomery County — near Washita
