KTHV:
Scattered showers and thunderstorms are ongoing across the Natural State this Thursday morning. While no storms have been severe as of this writing, the potential to see a few strong to severe storms continues.
A strong cold front is currently approaching from the west. It’s along the front where we would expect to see storms pulse up and become severe. This colder, drier air will clash with with the warmer and humid air we’ve enjoyed the last few days.
While there is plenty of wind shear, other ingredients such as “storm fuel” are lacking.
Certainly, there are enough ingredients at play for some severe storms, but other qualities such as the lack of “storm fuel” will prevent a widespread severe weather outbreak.
