The number of people hospitalized with covid-19 in Arkansas fell by 66 on Thursday, the 10th consecutive daily decline.
The official death toll from the disease rose by 10, the smallest daily increase so far this month. The Arkansas Department of Health has reported 9,937 covid deaths since the pandemic reached the state in March 2020.
The state’s new case numbers are continuing to decline. The Health Department on Thursday reported 1,825 new cases of covid-19, an increase that was less than half the size of the one the previous Thursday.
With Thursday’s report of 66 fewer hospitalizations, the number of covid patients hospitalized in Arkansas fell to 1,257, the first time in about a month it has been below 1,300.
