Christmas Honors Remember Fallen Service Men And Women

A pause in the Christmas shopping and break from the holiday festivities. Instead, at the National Cemetery in Fort Smith, a period of private mourning and public honor.

“It makes me extremely emotional to see all these people coming together doing this,” said Darla Hill, who visited the burial site of a fallen loved one. “They don’t even know they are doing this out of the goodness of their heart.”

What they are doing is laying wreaths on the headstones of fallen veterans. It’s been a tradition since 2009 called, “Christmas Honors.”
