A pair of labor unions for two of Green Country’s largest employers are holding events this week addressing the vaccine mandate for workers.
Transport Workers Local 514 and United Aerospace Workers Local 952 held a town hall Tuesday at Hope Community Church.
At the Transport Workers Union which represents roughly 4,000 employees under American Air, they have until November 24 to get the first dose of their vaccine or they’ll be terminated.
“Maybe we should talk to our politicians and say hey can you look at this,” said TAW Local 514 president, Dale Danker. “And now because they don’t have a vaccination by a certain date the answer from the government is that they can no longer work here because you guys do federal contracts. That seems wrong to me on the surface.”
