The study of Medicare recipients released Tuesday found each 10% increase in vaccination rate resulted in an 11-12% decline in weekly COVID-19 hospitalizations and deaths among Medicare beneficiaries.

Researchers looked at Medicare beneficiaries between January and May 2021 and found vaccinations were linked to a reduction in about 39,000 deaths during that time.
