800 Afghan Refugees Heading To Tulsa Delayed Due To Positive Measles Cases

KTUL:

Catholic Charities of Eastern Oklahoma said the arrival of 800 refugees from Afghanistan has been delayed.

Deacon Kevin Sartorius said officials are working to inoculate five to 10 refugees who have tested positive for the measles.

“Arrivals from state department process to local communities have been put on hold for about 21 days,” Deacon Sartorius said.

After a 21-day incubation period, the situation will be assessed.
