As Ukraine Counteroffensive Gets Bogged Down, It’s Back To The Drawing Board

Politico:

Expectations for Ukraine’s counteroffensive were too high from the start.

And as it now closes in on its third month, with no sign of a truly significant dynamic-changing breakthrough, it feels as though we’re back in a slog, a war of attrition that risks stretching the patience of impatient allies — something the Kremlin is no doubt hoping for.

The only thing on the drawing board right now is all this F-16 nonsense. When that dumb plan inevitably fails, we might as well see if our puppets can make the F-35 work.

The US/NATO/EU proxy army of Ukraine has never NOT been slogged down in a war of attrition against Russia. All the Russians need to do is hold their lines and make incremental gains. Once our puppet government in Ukraine has run out of Ukrainians to get killed, the Russians will march on Lviv.

Ukraine Counteroffensive Achieves Breakthrough Zelensky Desperately Needed

Newsweek:

Ukraine has said that its forces have recaptured the village of Urozhaine from Russian troops, delivering an important boost to President Volodymyr Zelensky more than two months into his troops’ counteroffensive.

The US/EU/NATO proxy army in Ukraine poured entire brigades into the effort to take the village of Urozhaine. Our forces were held off for weeks by a well-entrenched Russian force the size of a single company, which eventually withdrew. The village of Urozhaine is located far from the Russian main line. This was no breakthrough. And our proxy army cannot sustain operations like this.

Conservative Group Launches Campaign To Push For GOP Support For Ukraine

The Washington Post:

In response to the growing fissure within the GOP over support for the war effort in Ukraine, a conservative group is launching a $2 million campaign urging Republicans in Congress to continue backing the U.S. ally.

Defending Democracy Together, an organization led by Republican strategist Sarah Longwell and conservative political commentator Bill Kristol, is launching “Republicans for Ukraine” to get congressional Republicans to commit to continue funding aid for Ukraine ahead of what is likely to be a lengthy appropriations fight.

There is, of course, nothing “conservative” about these people or their megalomaniacal global war agenda. They are anti-Americans; Neoconservatives and Globalists. They are Never-Trumpers who aided and abetted various coup attempts against our duly-elected POTUS. They are garbage.

Friendship and trade with Russia are conservative. So is a general anti-interventionist foreign policy. Don’t be garbage: be an American and oppose this stupid war in Ukraine.

Ukraine War: Pressure For ‘Hollywood-Style’ Breakthrough Damaging Push Against Putin’s Forces, Experts Warn

The Independent:

Facing heavily fortified Russian defences, including vast minefields and heavy shelling during its summer counteroffensive, Ukraine has been forced to broaden its focus away from the front lines.

With rains expected to muddy the battlefield in areas of the south and east of the country – including Zaporizhzhia – as soon as September, the “odds are getting longer” on the “triumphant breakthrough” many in the West were hoping for, analysts have told The Independent.

A Hollywood-style breakthrough was the entire point of our Ukrainian proxy army’s spring counteroffensive. If the breakthrough is impossible, then the counteroffensive has failed. If the counteroffensive has failed, then our Ukrainian proxy army needs to fall back, dig in, and conserve its strength. Returning to the failed “steady flow” strategy is not going to yield any different results.

Biden Asks For $20.6 Billion For Ukraine As Counteroffensive Sputters

The Washington Post:

The United States has already directed more than $60 billion in aid to Ukraine, including more than $40 billion in direct military assistance. That is more than any other country. Biden has vowed that the U.S. government will support Ukraine “as long as it takes,” but Western allies face difficult questions about the state of the war effort, with Ukrainian forces bogged down in the east despite new Western weapons and training.

All of it will be wasted. We could never have won in Ukraine. Russia beat us before we ever picked this stupid fight.

White House Downplays CNN Poll Showing Majority Of Americans Oppose More US Aid For Ukraine

CNN:

The White House on Wednesday downplayed CNN polling showing most Americans oppose Congress providing additional funding to support Ukraine in its war with Russia ahead of a reported administration request for more aid.

“We have we have seen throughout this war solid support from the American people, solid support from the Congress in a bipartisan and bicameral way for continuing to support Ukraine and we’re going to stay focused on that,” National Security Council Coordinator for Strategic Communications John Kirby told CNN on a call with reporters Wednesday.

“It’s not just important to the people of Ukraine, but it’s important to our European allies and partners, particularly our NATO allies, given that this fighting is on the on the doorstep of many of those NATO allies.”

As I said. The headlines out of Ukraine are nothing but bleak for our side; and so Biden is all set to double down like a derelict.

Russia Accuses Ukraine Of Targeting Nuclear Plant With Strike Drone

The Jerusalem Post:

Russian security forces said on Wednesday that Ukraine had attempted to attack a spent nuclear fuel storage facility at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant with a strike drone, the state news agency RIA reported, without citing any named source or official.

Russian security forces reached their conclusion by analyzing the flight path of the drone, which they downed, RIA said. It distributed a photograph of the purported downed drone, a quadcopter.

Now that there is no question in anyone’s mind that the spring counteroffensive has failed and our proxy army will not be breaking through the Russian lines to sever the land bridge and conquer Crimea, we can finally do the false flag dirty bomb thing in Zaporizhzhia.

Western Allies Receive Increasingly ‘Sobering’ Updates On Ukraine’s Counteroffensive: ‘This Is The Most Difficult Time Of The War’

CNN:

Weeks into Ukraine’s highly anticipated counteroffensive, Western officials describe increasingly “sobering” assessments about Ukrainian forces’ ability to retake significant territory, four senior US and western officials briefed on the latest intelligence told CNN.

“They’re still going to see, for the next couple of weeks, if there is a chance of making some progress. But for them to really make progress that would change the balance of this conflict, I think, it’s extremely, highly unlikely,” a senior western diplomat told CNN.

It’s just us getting lots of Ukrainians killed for nothing. And it needs to end.

Ukraine’s Sluggish Counteroffensive Raises Questions About U.S. Support

Reason:

President Joe Biden has claimed that the U.S.’s support for Ukraine “will not waver” amid its conflict with Russia, but new reports about the slow pace of Kyiv’s counteroffensive highlight the costs of the fighting.

The New York Times reported last week that newly Western-trained Ukrainian brigades have failed to achieve any “sweeping gains,” due to Russian artillery fire. Similarly, CNN has highlighted Ukraine’s difficulty in penetrating Russian defenses, with one Ukrainian official calling the density of Russian mines “insane.” And Politico reported Tuesday that U.S. officials expect the counteroffensive to last “at least through the fall and possibly into the winter.”

These reports follow a July 25 story in The Wall Street Journal claiming that the failure of Ukraine’s counteroffensive to achieve its objectives has many Western officials fearing an “open-ended conflict”—and pessimistic that conflict-ending negotiations will occur this year.

Maybe the fact that we long ago jumped the shark in Ukraine will play a roll in upcoming elections. Probably not to any meaningful extent, though.

No Breakthrough Yet In Ukraine’s Counteroffensive

Politico:

If Ukraine’s supporters were hoping for a breakthrough after Kyiv’s forces made a new push in the southeast of the country last week, they were sorely disappointed.

The latest attack, which saw Ukraine throw in thousands of Western-trained reinforcements to drive south from the town of Orikhiv, has not yet yielded significant results, U.S. Defense Department officials told NatSec Daily this week, with one noting that the gains are being measured in the hundreds of meters.

The US/EU/NATO proxy army’s doomed spring counteroffensive summer reboot cannot succeed.

Russia Watches As Saudi Arabia Leads Ukraine Peace Talks With U.S., World Allies

CNBC:

Andriy Yermak, the head of Zelenskyy’s office, said that Kyiv is working to involve as many countries as possible in the talks, which are slated to take place in Jeddah.

“President Zelenskyy said that our choice is to unite the world around Ukraine. The evidence of this choice is clear: We are engaging countries from the West, East, North and South,” Yermak said during a meeting with Ukrainian officials.

Oh what a delightful tea party it must have been! Too bad the Russians were not invited. They were too busy fighting and winning the war we started in Ukraine when we sponsored the coup to topple Ukraine’s constitutional, democratically-elected government in 2014.

High Hopes For Ukraine’s 2nd Counteroffensive Against Russia

Yahoo! News:

After a first phase marked by slow progress and heavy equipment losses, Ukraine has regrouped to launch a second, more forceful thrust to reclaim its territory. The purpose of the new counteroffensive is to smash through Russia’s fortified positions in the Zaporizhzhia region on the occupied nation’s eastern border.

If the Ukrainian charge can pry an opening in the Russian defenses and reach the Azov Sea, the Kremlin could see its grip on the four regions it illegally annexed last year weakened by the time cold weather arrives and the fighting slows.

How embarrassing. A couple of days ago, we were witnessing the “main thrust” of the doomed spring counteroffensive of the US/EU/NATO proxy army in Ukraine. Now, I guess, our imperial war planners have realized their own failure, and so we are supposed to pretend like a completely different counteroffensive has been planned and launched. But it’s the exact same thing. And it’s still going to fail.

Main Thrust of Ukraine’s Offensive May Be Underway, U.S. Officials Say

The New York Times:

Ukraine has launched the main thrust of its counteroffensive, throwing in thousands of troops held in reserve, many of them Western-trained and equipped, two Pentagon officials said on Wednesday, hours after Russian officials reported major Ukrainian attacks in the southern Zaporizhzhia region.

A spokesman for Russia’s Defense Ministry, Igor Konashenkov, said the Ukrainians had mounted a “massive” assault with three battalions, reinforced with tanks, south of the town of Orikhiv, and then another a few miles farther south near the village of Robotyne, according to the state news agency Tass. Both were repelled, the ministry said.

Other American officials cautioned that the latest Ukrainian attack might be preparatory operations for the main thrust or perhaps just reinforcements to replenish war-weary units.

The previous strategy of sending a steady flow of Ukrainians to die for nothing at the foot of Russia’s multi-layered defenses did nothing to facilitate the promised capture of Crimea from Russia. So the doomed Ukrainian spring counteroffensive was paused. After much brainstorming, the US/EU/NATO cabal’s puppet government in Ukraine has settled on an updated strategy of blowing its wad.

Russia Warns Of ‘Tough Retaliatory Measures’ After Drone Strikes On Moscow, Crimea

The Hill:

According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, two Ukrainian unmanned combat aerial vehicles attempted to attack facilities early Monday morning in Moscow but were stopped by radio-electronic warfare systems. No casualties were reported, though two nonresidential buildings were struck.

The Russian Foreign Ministry said a “helicopter-type drone,” with no explosives also fell on a cemetery in the city of Zelenograd.

Separately, Russian authorities claimed Kyiv launched drones in Russian-annexed Crimea, hitting an ammunition depot and causing a traffic backup on a major highway and a railway crossing in the Black Sea peninsula. There were no casualties reported, but a private home was damaged by drone fragments.

As our doomed spring counteroffensive in Ukraine continues to fail, our puppet government in Ukraine is wasting vital drone resources on symbolic acts of terrorism in Russia. Apart from provoking much more devastating retaliatory attacks from Russia, these attacks on Russian civilian infrastructure can only achieve the political objective of terrorizing Russian civilians. We can deny that we condone these attacks, but these attacks only happen because we ensure that they do happen.

US Officials Have ‘No Reason To Doubt’ Russia Moved Nuclear Weapons To Belarus: Report

The Hill:

U.S. intelligence officials told reporters on Friday that there is ‘no reason to doubt’ Russian President Vladimir Putin’s claims that he moved nuclear weapons into Belarus, according to CNN.

Senior Defense Intelligence Agency officials also said they don’t believe the movement alters the global nuclear landscape or increases the risk of nuclear attack, the outlet reported.

Putin announced in June that Russia had delivered its first nuclear warheads into Belarus as part of a plan to deploy tactical nuclear bombs in the country bordering Ukraine.

“This is a deterrence measure [against] all those who think about Russia and its strategic defeat,” he said at the time.

The Russian president also claimed that it was only “the first batch,” the Russian state-run outlet TASS reported. “We will complete this work by the end of this year.”

There is roughly a zero percent chance that President Putin would authorize an unprovoked attack on Poland. It is almost certain that if the Poland-Belarus powder keg does explode, it is because the US federal government chose to explode it.

Putin Tells Poland Any Aggression Against Belarus Is Attack On Russia

Reuters:

President Vladimir Putin on Friday accused NATO member Poland of having territorial ambitions in the former Soviet Union, and said any aggression against Russia’s neighbour and close ally Belarus would be considered an attack on Russia.

Warsaw’s Security Committee decided on Wednesday to move military units to eastern Poland after members of the Russian Wagner mercenary force arrived in Belarus, the state-run news agency PAP quoted its secretary as saying on Friday.

Poland denies any territorial ambitions in Belarus.

In his remarks Putin had also stated that the western part of Poland was a gift from Soviet leader Joseph Stalin to the country and that Russia would remind Poles about it.

Belarus is Russia.

Senate Moves Closer To Prohibiting Presidential Withdrawal From NATO Without Congressional Approval

WSET:

On Wednesday, Virginia Senator Tim Kaine applauded the Senate’s vote to formally add a bipartisan bill to explicitly prohibit any President of the United States from withdrawing from NATO without Senate approval or an Act of Congress to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA).

Senator Kaine and Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL), both members of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee (SFRC), reintroduced the bill earlier this month.

Kaine and Rubio’s amendment would require the U.S. President to consult with and gain consent from the Senate before taking any steps to suspend, terminate, or withdraw U.S. membership from NATO. In the event that a President attempts to withdraw from the alliance without the necessary approval, the legislation explicitly forbids the use of any funding for this purpose. The bill would also grant Congressional Legal Counsel the authority to challenge the Administration’s actions in court.

These two Neoconservative senators, with their Congressional Neocon and Globalist cohorts, must be concerned about the possibility of President Donald Trump returning to office and finally advancing the actual interests of the Americans.

Russia Targets Ukraine’s Key Grain Storage Sites After Days Of Hitting Port Facilities

MarketWatch:

Russia followed its withdrawal from a grain export deal by expanding its attacks from port infrastructure to farm storage buildings in Ukraine’s Odesa region on Friday, while also practicing a Black Sea blockade.

Other Russian missiles damaged what officials described only as an “important infrastructure facility” southwest of the port city of Odesa, in what appeared to be an effort to cripple Ukraine’s food exports.

If we would have wanted Ukraine to keep its coastline, then we would have fulfilled our obligations to Russia under the grain export deal.

Ukraine Warns Black Sea Ships As Russia Pummels Ports

AFP:

Kyiv on Thursday put ships in the Black Sea headed for Russian-controlled ports on alert, as Moscow hit the Ukrainian ports of Mykolaiv and Odesa with drones and missiles in another night of “hellish” strikes.

Ukraine said it would treat the ships as potential carriers of military cargo, mirroring a move made by Russia after it withdrew from a key grain export deal.

As an enlisted surface warfare specialist of the United States Navy, I have a hunch that the Russian Navy will not be defeated with a hastily-supplied, limited amount of cluster bombs. That is not to say that the US/EU/NATO axis does not have assets in place to specifically to harass the Russian Navy.
