Psychedelic Pseconds

For this month’s helping of Psychedelic Pseconds, it’s the Byrds, with “Eight Miles High.”

Of course, it is hard to think about that song without thinking about the other iteration of it, by the other iteration of the Byrds from a few years later. Note the personnel changes.

If you ever see me list the Byrds twice on my list of favorite bands, you will understand why!

Psychedelic Pseconds

For this month’s helping of Psychedelic Pseconds, it’s the Purple Canteen, with “Brains in My Feet.” I first became acquainted with the wordless version of this fine piece of art, which can be found on an anthology to which I have referred in the past: Lost Souls: 1960s Garage And Psychedelic Rock’n’Roll From The Un-Natural State – Arkansas.

In keeping with the bonus track precedent established on the previous Psychedelic Psecond, it’s the specific song to which I did refer in the past: “Planet of Union,” by LD Mitchell and the Amalgamated Taxi Cab Service.
