According to the weekly report, new virus cases increased by 4,509 over the last seven days. That’s an average of about 644 cases per day.
Hospitalizations fell by 216 over that same period, bringing the total number of patients hospitalized in the state to 449.
State officials also announced 274 new deaths in the past week, bringing the total number of Arkansans who have died as a result of the pandemic to 10,579.
There are currently 80 patients on ventilators statewide, down 22 over the last week.
There are 4,887 cases of COVID-19 considered active in the state, which includes those that have tested positive by both PCR and antigen testing methods. That number is down from the 8,970 active cases reported last Tuesday.

Trucker ‘Freedom Convoy’ Makes Arkansas Stop On Way To DC

A “freedom trucker” convoy heading to Washington D.C. from across the country made a stop in Arkansas Wednesday.
A group of truckers met at the North Little Rock Travel Plaza and headed out, bound for the nation’s capital.
The group was met by supporters holding signs and waving flags.

COVID-19 In Arkansas: Active Cases At Lowest Point Since Mid-November.

Since the latest update by the state on Monday, the number of active cases fell by 452 to 4,887. The data showed 693 new cases reported, driving the total number of cases reported during the pandemic to 820,677.
Tuesday’s update also showed a higher number of deaths attributed to COVID-19 in Arkansas at 10,579 which is an increase of 55 since Monday.
The ADH data reported 449 patients currently hospitalized with COVID-19, a drop of six since Monday. The figures also showed 80 patients on ventilators, an increase of five in the last 24 hours and 144 COVID-19 patients in the ICU, which is a drop of four in the last 24 hours.
People’s Convoy Protest Against Mandates Leaves Oklahoma For US Capitol

The cross-country effort to protest mask and vaccine mandates made its way out of Oklahoma on Monday.
The People’s Convoy, comprised of hundreds of truckers and supporters of the cause, left Big Cabin to head to the nation’s Capitol.

Arkansas Covid Hospitalizations Fall For 3rd Day; More On Ventilators, In ICU

The state’s count of cases rose by 558, an increase that was larger by 63 than the one a day earlier but smaller by 13 than the one the previous Monday.
Arkansas’ death toll from the coronavirus, as tracked by the Department of Health, rose by 27, to 10,524.
Dropping for the third day in a row, the number hospitalized with the virus fell by 10, to 455.
After falling for the previous 13 days, however, the number on ventilators rose by 15, to 75.
The number in intensive care rose by 21, to 148, after falling the previous two days.
Both numbers were still down by more than two-thirds from the levels they reached in January during a surge of infections from the omicron variant.
Flags, Rifles And Fingers: ‘The People’s Convoy’ Trucker Protest Rolls Through Oklahoma
A group of truckers calling itself “The People’s Convoy” protested pandemic-era mandates Sunday as the group made its way through Oklahoma and past supporters waving American flags on overpasses and from the side of the road.
The convoy launched Feb. 23 in Southern California and plans to drive the nation’s Capital Beltway by March 5 after passing through Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Maryland. The Capital Beltway is a 64-mile roadway through Virginia and Maryland that circles the District of Columbia.
Arkansas Covid Hospitalization Continue Decline After 1-Day Blip
Over the course of three days, hospitalizations fell by nearly 100, from 602 Wednesday to 508 Saturday. Thursday’s 545 patients marked the first drop below 600 since late December. However, four more people were hospitalized Friday.
The 41 fewer patients Saturday accompanied drops in ventilator usage and intensive care patients.
Friday saw 10 new intensive care patients, the first increase after 18 days on the decline. Saturday saw seven fewer than Friday for a total of 168.
The number of patients on ventilators fell for the 12th consecutive day, with 79 Saturday, five fewer than Friday, according to Health Department data.
Despite the positive trends, the department recorded 40 deaths from covid-19 Saturday, twice the number of new deaths recorded a week earlier, for a total of 10,465 since March 2020.
Transcontinental Convoy Of Truckers To Pass Through Oklahoma On Sunday
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) said it’s ready for the arrival of a transcontinental convoy in our state on Sunday.
The movement is made of hundreds of truckers and other travelers who believe officials should end states of emergency and mandates related to the pandemic.
The OHP said the convoy will move along I-40, the Kilpatrick, Turner, Creek and Will Rogers Turnpikes.
Troopers will be positioned along the route to make sure traffic flows normally.
The traveling protestors plan to reach Washington D.C. ahead of President Biden’s State of the Union address Tuesday night.
Arkansas’ Covid Hospitalizations Hit 2-Month Low; Death Toll Rises By 40
Covid-19 hospitalizations in Arkansas resumed their downward trend Saturday, with 41 fewer Arkansans hospitalized with the disease, according to the Arkansas Department of Health.
However, the Health Department also reported 40 more covid deaths.
State officials reported 508 covid hospitalizations on Saturday, the lowest total since 482 Arkansans were hospitalized with the disease on Dec. 26. The number had fallen for 25 straight days until Friday, when hospitalizations rose by four, to 549.
The number of ventilator users and intensive care patients declined Saturday as well. Ventilators in use fell for the 12th day running, with 79 on Saturday, five fewer than Friday, according to Health Department data.

On Friday, data from the Oklahoma State Department of Health shows that the state has had 1,019,489 confirmed cases of COVID-19 since March of 2020.
That’s an increase of 1,161 cases.
At this point, officials believe there are 6,385 active cases of COVID-19 in Oklahoma.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Oklahoma has seen 14,541 deaths as of Friday. That’s an increase of 4 deaths since Thursday’s numbers.
Arkansas Covid Numbers Continue To Drop; Hospitalizations Fall Below 600 For The First Time Since December
The number of people hospitalized with covid-19 in Arkansas dropped below 600 Thursday for the first time since late December as the state’s new case numbers also continued falling.
The state’s death toll from the virus, as tracked by the Arkansas Department of Health, rose by 40, to 10,381.
It was the biggest daily increase since the previous Thursday, when 45 deaths were reported.
‘People’s Convoy’ To Drive Through Tulsa On Sunday, OHP Says
The “People’s Convoy,” one of several planned U.S. trucker convoys modeled after Canada’s “Freedom Convoy” protesting vaccine and mask mandates, is planning two stops in Oklahoma over the weekend and will drive through Tulsa on its way to the Washington, D.C., area, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
The People’s Convoy plans to enter Oklahoma from Texas on Interstate 40 and stop in Elk City Saturday evening for the night. Then it will travel east through western Oklahoma on Interstate 40 on Sunday before turning northeast on Interstate 44.
It will then travel on the Turner Turnpike to Tulsa and through the Tulsa area on the Creek Turnpike before taking the Will Rogers Turnpike to Vinita, where it will stop for the night Sunday and make its way out of Oklahoma on Monday, the OHP reported. The convoy’s official website lists the rest stops and dates of travel.

On Thursday, data from the Oklahoma State Department of Health shows that the state has had 1,018,328 confirmed cases of COVID-19 since March of 2020.
That’s an increase of 1,383 cases.
At this point, officials believe there are 7,083 active cases of COVID-19 in Oklahoma.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Oklahoma has seen 14,537 deaths as of Thursday. That’s an increase of 49 deaths since Wednesday’s numbers.
Officials say there were 772 Oklahomans hospitalized with COVID-19 on average over the past three days. Authorities also noted that there were 46 pediatric hospitalizations for COVID-19 included in that number.
Arkansas’ Covid Death Toll Rises By 40 As Fewer New Cases Reported
The Arkansas Department of Health on Thursday reported 40 new covid-19 deaths, the biggest daily increase since the previous Thursday. The rolling seven-day total number of reported deaths, however, fell to its lowest level since Feb. 4.
Arkansas had reported 45 deaths on the previous Thursday, Feb. 17. The 40 deaths reported a week later raised the state’s official death toll since March 2020 to 10,381.
The number of people hospitalized with covid-19 in Arkansas fell below 600 on Thursday for the first time since late December. In its 24th consecutive daily decline, the number of covid patients hospitalized fell by 57, to 545, its lowest level since Dec. 27.
The state’s count of cases rose by 571, which was less than half the size of the daily increase a week earlier and down from the 1,059 new cases that were added on Wednesday.
The average daily increase in the state’s case count over a rolling seven-day period fell to 876, the first time it had been below 900 since Dec. 23.
Trucker Convoy Heads For DC As Pentagon OKs Request To Deploy National Guard
A convoy of truckers opposed to COVID-19 mandates set off on a planned cross-country drive from Southern California to the Washington DC area Wednesday as the Pentagon approved a request to deploy approximately 700 unarmed National Guard troops ahead of the group’s expected arrival.
About two dozen trucks and a number of other vehicles hit the road from the Mojave Desert town of Adelanto as part of a self-proclaimed “People’s Convoy.”
Organizers said in a statement that they planned to undertake a “100% safe, lawful and peaceful” journey that would “terminate in the vicinity of the DC area, but will NOT be going into DC proper.”
Arrival was scheduled for March 5, but some participants are expected to arrive in the Washington area in time for President Biden’s March 1 State of the Union address to Congress.

On Wednesday, data from the Oklahoma State Department of Health shows that the state has had 1,016,945 confirmed cases of COVID-19 since March of 2020.
That’s an increase of 1,010 cases.
At this point, officials believe there are 7,674 active cases of COVID-19 in Oklahoma.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Oklahoma has seen 14,488 deaths as of Wednesday. That’s an increase of 63 deaths since Tuesday’s numbers.

The Arkansas Department of Health data showed 8,251 active cases of the virus Wednesday, a drop of 717 from the previous day. There were 1,059 new cases of the virus, raising the total number of cases in the state to 817,227 since the pandemic began.
The latest figures also revealed a decrease of 63 hospitalizations in the last 24 hours, dropping that number to 602. There were seven fewer patients on ventilators than the day prior, moving that number to 95, while 185 patients are in ICU due to the virus, down by 25 from the previous day.
Health officials reported 36 additional deaths Wednesday, increasing the number of people who died in Arkansas from COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic to 10,341.
