China Should Be Honest On Covid Origin, Says US Envoy

BBC News:

The US envoy to China has called on the country to be “more honest” about the origins of the Covid-19 virus.

His comments come a day after US media reported that a federal agency had found the pandemic probably started from a laboratory leak in Wuhan.

Why is the general public suddenly allowed to know now that the Wuhan leak scenario is not just a “racist” conspiracy theory? Does it have anything to do with the Biden Administration’s quest to start nuclear World War III against Russia and China? Are we all now supposed to want a war with China over Taiwan because Covid?

Lab Leak Most Likely Origin Of Covid-19 Pandemic, Energy Department Now Says

The Wall Street Journal:

The U.S. Energy Department has concluded that the Covid pandemic most likely arose from a laboratory leak, according to a classified intelligence report recently provided to the White House and key members of Congress.

The shift by the Energy Department, which previously was undecided on how the virus emerged, is noted in an update to a 2021 document by Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines’s office.

Oh look, we are finally allowed to know that thing that we have all known since March of 2020.

But why now?

All You Need To Know About China’s Plan For Russia-Ukraine Talks

Al Jazeera:

China has released its much-anticipated position paper on the Russia-Ukraine war, in which it calls for a ceasefire and talks between the two parties.

Conflict and war “benefit no one”, China said on Friday in the 12-point paper, timed to coincide with the first anniversary of Russia’s invasion of neighbouring Ukraine.

Conflict and war only benefit the psychopaths who have assumed control of US, EU, and NATO foreign policy. That is why US, EU, and NATO actors engineered the war in Ukraine by organizing the coup which overthrew the constitutional, democratically-elected government of Ukraine in 2014. That is also why the US, EU, and NATO immediately rejected the ChiComs’ peace plan.

That is also why our fake news media-industrial complex has tripped all over itself trying to roll out their next big scary narrative: that China is supplying “military support” to their ally Russia. Some sources, such as CNN, have already announced that it has already happened. Joe Biden says we will respond if it does happen, but that there is no evidence of it happening yet. To be fair, Joe Biden has no idea what planet he is on or what day it is, so he most likely has no clue what China has done or will do. Based on the way that every tinpot Western bureaucrat and their mom is trying to sound tough by dictating China’s policy, I suspect that the ChiComs will have no problem bailing out Russia, if/when Russia ever needs it.

US To Ramp Up Troops In Taiwan As Tensions With China Grow: Report

New York Post:

The United States will send between 100 and 200 troops to Taiwan over the next few months to help train the island’s military — the largest deployment of American forces there in decades as Washington tries to deter China from a potential attack.

The additional service members represent a major buildup from the roughly 30 US forces stationed in Taiwan at this time last year, the Wall Street Journal reported Thursday.

This is not deterrence, this is provocation.

China Denies Stoking Geopolitical Battle With US In Pacific

Bloomberg:

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said his country has no desire to engage in “geopolitical competition” over influence of Pacific islands nations, during his marathon tour of the region.

“China has no intention of competing with anyone, let alone engaging in geopolitical competition, and has never established a so-called sphere of influence,” Wang said Tuesday after meeting Tongan Foreign Minister Fekitamoeloa Utoikamanu, according to a Chinese government readout.

Quad Launches ‘Anti-China’ Maritime Surveillance Plan

Al Jazeera:

Pledging to provide “tangible benefits” for nations in the Indo-Pacific region, the leaders of the Quad have launched a maritime surveillance plan that analysts say is their most significant move to date to counter China.

The Quad – an informal alliance made up of Japan, the United States, India and Australia – said on Tuesday that the Indo-Pacific Partnership for Maritime Domain Awareness (IPMDA) will help the Pacific Islands and countries in Southeast Asia and the Indian Ocean track illegal fishing and other illicit activities in their waters in real-time. And although the Quad did not mention China by name, analysts say the initiative is aimed at addressing long-held complaints from countries in the region about unauthorised fishing by Chinese boats in their exclusive economic zones as well as encroachment by Chinese maritime militia vessels in the disputed waters of the South China Sea.

China And Russia Veto New UN Sanctions On North Korea For First Time Since 2006

CNN:

Russia and China on Thursday vetoed a US-drafted United Nations Security Council resolution to strengthen sanctions on North Korea in a vote the US ambassador to the UN called dangerous, disappointing and likely to fuel Pyongyang’s program to develop nuclear-capable missile systems.

The move comes after more than a dozen North Korean ballistic missile tests this year, all of which violated previous UN resolutions and which US officials argued necessitated another international response.

A resolution needs nine “yes” votes and no vetoes by the permanent members of Russia, China, France, the United Kingdom or the United States to be adopted by the UN Security Council. The 13 other members of the Security Council voted to adopt the resolution.

Dem China Hawks Hope Biden’s Taiwan Gaffe Was No Accident

Politico:

The White House insists that Joe Biden wasn’t abandoning longstanding U.S. policy with his declaration that the U.S. would use military force to defend Taiwan from China. Many of his congressional allies are hoping otherwise.

U.S. Speeds Up Reshaping Of Taiwan’s Defenses To Deter China

The New York Times:

The Biden administration has accelerated its efforts to reshape Taiwan’s defense systems as it projects a more robust American military presence in the region to try to deter a potential attack by the Chinese military, current and former U.S. officials say.

The Biden Administration is escalating the Globalists’ nuclear holocaust timeline. The Iran deal is not happening, so the Zionists can start the Iran war on our behalf at any moment. We are already at war with Russia in Ukraine, and we can begin directly attacking their forces with our forces at any moment. If we can provoke the ChiComs into preemptively invading Taiwan by threatening them with a military buildup on the island, then the Globalists can finally have their nuclear World War III.

But fear not, gentle reader. When thousands and thousands of nuclear warheads begin raining down all over the world, the billionaire neo-fascist psychopaths who control Western governments will be safe in their massive bunker complexes.

US ‘Playing With Fire’ On Taiwan, China Warns: Xinhua

Al Jazeera:

China has warned that the United States is “playing with fire” after President Joe Biden said that Washington would defend Taiwan militarily if the self-governed island is attacked by Beijing.

The Chinese State Council’s Taiwan Affairs Office said on Monday that the US is “using the ‘Taiwan card’ to contain China, and will itself get burned”.

State outlet Xinhua cited the office’s spokesperson Zhu Fenglian as saying that he urges the US to “stop any remarks or actions that violate” previously established principles between Beijing and Washington.

Speaking from Tokyo during a trip to Asia, Biden had answered with an unambiguous “yes” when asked by reporters whether the US would “get involved militarily” to defend Taiwan if it is attacked by China.

Pressed further about the apparent shift in US policy, Biden said: “That’s the commitment we made.”

So where the hell is Milley?

Biden Begins Trip To Asia Meant To Reassure Allies Of Focus On China

The New York Times:

President Biden embarked Thursday on his first diplomatic mission to Asia since taking office, hoping to demonstrate that the United States remained focused on countering China, even as his administration stage-managed a war against Russia in Europe.

With his original strategy of pivoting foreign policy attention to Asia effectively blown up by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Mr. Biden has now shifted to the argument that there can be no trade-off between Europe and Asia and that only the United States can bring together the democracies of the East and West to stand up to autocracy and aggression in both spheres.

Biden Visits Japan, South Korea Carrying Warning To China

Reuters:

Joe Biden will visit Japan and South Korea on his first Asian trip as U.S. president, carrying a clear message to China, advisers and analysts say – don’t try what Russia did in Ukraine anywhere in Asia, and especially not in Taiwan.

Biden departs for the five day trip on Thursday, after spending several months organizing allies to punish Russia for its invasion of Ukraine, which Moscow calls a “special operation.”

He meets new South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol in Seoul and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida in Tokyo, leaders who share anxieties about North Korea and China and are eager to build on their long alliances with Washington.

“At its core this (trip) is about building out the alliance network in East Asia,” in part to counter any Chinese actions against Taiwan, said Evan Medeiros, an Asia specialist in the Barack Obama administration.

US Rushes To Catch Up With China In Supercomputer Race

Financial Times:

The US is about to vault into a new era of supercomputing, with a once in a decade leap forward in processing power that will have a big effect on fields ranging from climate change research to nuclear weapons testing.

But the national swagger usually prompted by such breakthroughs is likely to be muted. China passed this milestone first and is already well on the way to building an entire generation of advanced supercomputers beyond anything yet in use elsewhere.

What makes the advances all the more remarkable, according to US experts in the field, is that China’s achievement was made with local technology, after Washington blocked access to the American hardware long considered to be critical to such systems.

The build-up in China’s supercomputing program, which dates back more than two decades, has led to a “stunning situation” where the country now leads the world, said Jack Dongarra, a US supercomputing expert.

The World Tries To Move Beyond Covid. China May Stand In The Way.

The New York Times:

For more than two years, China kept its Covid numbers enviably low by doggedly reacting to signs of an outbreak with testing and snap lockdowns. The success allowed the Communist Party to boast that it had prioritized life over death in the pandemic, unlike Western democracies where deaths from the virus soared.

More transmissible variants like Omicron threaten to dent that success, posing a dilemma for Mr. Xi and the Chinese Communist Party.

Biden Hosts Southeast Asian Leaders As He Tries To Return Focus To China

The New York Times:

President Biden on Thursday began hosting the leaders of Southeast Asian nations at the White House for a two-day visit, delivering a message of solidarity — and aiming to provide a bulwark against Chinese influence in the region — even as much of his administration remains focused on Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

The summit, which concludes on Friday, is intended to cover an array of topics, including trade, human rights and climate change. But it is also part of an effort by Mr. Biden’s foreign policy team to highlight one of the president’s primary goals: assembling a united front against China as it increasingly demonstrates its economic and military might around the world.

US Intel Chief Warns China ‘Working Hard’ To Prep Taiwan Invasion

New York Post:

Top US intelligence officials warned Tuesday that China is “working hard” to carry out a military takeover of Taiwan — and Beijing is closely watching Russia’s invasion of Ukraine to gauge the level of America’s potential opposition.

Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines told lawmakers on the Senate Armed Services Committee that the threat to Taiwan is “acute.”

“It’s our view that they [the Chinese] are working hard to effectively put themselves into a position in which their military is capable of taking Taiwan over our intervention,” Haines told the panel.

US Clashes With China And Russia Over North Korea Sanctions

The Washington Post:

The United States clashed with China and Russia on Wednesday over their strong opposition to the U.S. push for new U.N. sanctions on North Korea over its missile and nuclear programs.

The debate at a U.N. Security Council meeting put a spotlight on the enormous gap between the two sides and the near impossible task the Biden administration faces in trying to get the council to adopt a new sanctions resolution. China and Russia both have veto power and say they want to see new talks and not more punishment for the North.
